The Conference

Following the successful premiere of the International Conference on Seismic Design of Industrial Facilities in 2013 the 2nd SeDIF-Conference in 2020 will again serve as platform for fruitful dialogue between science and practice. This time, a special focus will be on the new generation of Eurocode 8 and its application to industrial facilities.

Objectives of the Conference

The conference aims at bringing together academics, researchers and practitioners in the field of plant engineering with respect to the seismic behaviour of industrial facilities. Through exchanging information and experiences between theory and practice the conference is expected to

promote a better understanding of the seismic behaviour of industrial facilities

generate a fruitful discussion on how to deal with uncertainties and risks

lead to the development of efficient yet realistic computational schemes

offer a broad overview of international standards regarding the seismic design of industrial facilities
